Taylor Made introduces the new R7 425 with MWT

Well, I told you they were doing it with their irons, now they have attempted to make an improvement over their already revolutionary R7 Quad design.

Taylor Made has just announced the release of their R7 425. A larger head, larger ports for weight cartridges, and more movable weight should provide great shape movement, up to 13 yards according to their site.

Add to this their new RE*AX shaft, a co-engineered shaft with the assistance of Fujikura, and you have their latest attempt at cornering the driver market.

The pitch with this newly designed shaft?

Apparently it has been designed to reduce the amount of ovaling the shaft does when it flexes. Most graphite shafts will oval or compress so they are out of round when they flex; this new design apparently considerably lessens the amount of shape change in the shaft.

What does this mean?

More stability, shot consistancy, and improved club head speed according to their site.

Being that this is Taylor Made we are talking about, I have no doubt that this will be yet another fine product from their engineers, if not a vast improvement over their last innovation.

Check out the site for more specs, and the cool 360ยบ view of this new club!
