Team Sorenstam off to a good start...

The first round of the Lexus open has begun, and the International team, captained by Annika Sorenstam, is off to an early lead 4-2.

Although trailing after the front nine, the dynamic duo of Creamer and Sorenstam battled their way back to lead their opponents. At the turn the 6 groups were split evenly, which quickly turned into the impressive international lead closing the back 9.

Leading a team for the first time, Annika is finding it a unsettling transition watching the leaderboard while still maintaining focus on her own game.

South Korea's Han Hee-Won and Candie Kung representing Taiwan closed the round over their international rival, and the South Korean twins Aree and Naree Song managed to lead their match. These two pairings cashing in for the two Asian team points.

Saturday will mix up the pairings; Paula Creamer and Natalie Gulbis will play together making a rather attractive pairing. These two young stars should come together nicely for their team. Annika matches up with fellow veteren Karen Stupples for Saturday's fourball matchup.
