The PING G2i Craz-E mallet style putter, while looking like aliens may well have dropped it off on this planet, is a rival seller to the Odyssey 2 - Ball mallet. This putter, while unconventional in style, is well balanced, easy to line up, and has a wonder feel. The face of this putter is both reactive, and you can feel the clean contact with the ball.

Available in several different lengths, as well as different shaft seatings, this putter is an excellent addition for anyone looking at buying a new putter. PING offers this putter with the original Z-bend shaft, or in a belly putter, long putter, Anser-style hosel, or center shaft.

Although I tried all the shaft styles they offer, I settled on the center shaft model. The center shaft is more forgiving when making contact with the ball, in that it is not as likely to twist when you hit the ball as the shaft enters the club head at the point where contact is made with the ball.

Although it took me some time to walk away from the blade style putter, (Odyssey Dual Force 550) this putter is the best I have used yet. From lining up the ball, to the easy pendulum swing, this putter has improved both my putting stroke, as well as the weighting and aiming of my shots. If I do not drain the putt, I am leaving the ball inside 1' of the hole for an easy 2 putt. This putter should suit both the beginner, and the seasoned professional golfer.

Some of the hidden features of this putter are the best; the head cover is magnetic, so you do not need to bend down to pick it up. Also the design of the club allows you to pick up your wedges without bending over as well, by hooking them off the ground.
